ANTIFREEZE & ANTIFREEZE CONTAINER RECYCLING PROGRAM STARTS JULY 1, 2011

British Columbians have done an exceptional job of recycling used motor oil (79.3% recovery), oil filters (85.5%) and oil containers (88.3%). But when you consider that a single litre of used oil can contaminate a million litres of ground water it is clear that more needs to be done. Please ensure every drop of used oil, every filter and every container is brought to a collection facility during regular business hours so it can be disposed of properly. Most of these collection facilities will now also accept used antifreeze and antifreeze containers.

Interested in finding out more? Read about what we've been doing to encourage the responsible recycling of used oil and antifreeze materials as well as our annual Summer Ambassador Program.

Don't know what an environmental handling charge (EHC) is or how much EHCs are? Read about what charges you should expect when getting the oil changed in your car.
